Flexible Insulation for Complex Spaces

Low-density spray foam is lightweight, adaptable, and ideal for areas that require air sealing without added structural load. It’s commonly used in walls, attics, and retrofit applications.

Low-density foam, weighing half a pound per cubic foot, offers a lightweight alternative to traditional batt insulation when applied into wall cavities. Typically, the foam is "just-filled" to the depth of the stud wall, with any excess shaved flush. While the foam itself does not qualify as a vapor barrier, a poly vapor barrier and sealants are still utilized behind the drywall for added protection.

The immediate advantages of low-density foam include its ability to conform to irregular shapes, lower installation costs compared to closed-cell foam, superior sound isolation properties, and resistance to sagging or settling. Furthermore, it adheres seamlessly to framing and structural elements, eliminates internal convection air movements, and delivers enhanced insulation performance even in extreme temperatures.

This option is often chosen for its budget-friendly nature or when deep blind cavities in floor and wall systems require over-filling for optimal insulation coverage.
